Yoksul kelimesi TDK (2021); tarafından maddi anlamda sıkıntı çeken kimse şeklinde ifade edilirken, yoksulluk ise ülkedeki insanların gelir düzeyi anlamında eksik şekilde yaşamalarına sebep olan durumu ifade etmektedir.
Okuduğum eski bir kitapta obezite üzerine zengin, patron benzetmesi yapılmış, göbekli /şişman görünüm zenginlikle bağdaştırılmıştı. Yoksullar ise zayıf/ çelimsizdi. Zayıf olmak hastalık, fakirlik göstergesiydi. Bu benzetmenin üzerine çok düşündüm. Eski kitabım doğru söylüyordu fakat dönemi de eskiydi.
Evlenmek için de zayıflar tercih edilmez, toplumun her kesiminde yağına dolgunlar makbul olandı. Kız istemeye giden anneler gelinin belinin kalın olmasına göre karar verirdi.
Ve zaman değişti. Bilim sağlık alanında çalışmalar yaptı. Bu süre uzun zaman aldı ki halen toplumun her kesimi tarafından bilinmese de şişmanlık, makbul olan bel kalınlığı, patron göbeği, basenin kalçası OBEZİTE tanımını alarak hastalık literatürüne geçmiştir. Birçok hastalığın başlangıcı, sebebi ve sonucu olduğu kanıtlanmıştır.
Hal böyle olunca şişmanlık ( obezite ) taraf değiştirdi, yoksulun görünümü haline geldi. Sağlıklı gıdaya ulaşamayan, sistemin dayattığı masa ve makine başı uzun çalışma saatlerine maruz kalan, yorgun ama hareketsiz bedenlerin hastalığı oldu.
Obezite yoksulun olurken ve gün geçtikçe tehlikesi artarken; sistem obezite ile mücadele edecek meslek grubu diyetisyenleri de zenginin hizmetine uygun görmüş olacak ki devlet hastanelerinde sayısı yok denecek kadar az bir o kadarda özel okullardan mezunu çok olsun istedi.
Hastayı ve hastalığı ekonomiye can gören sistem; koruyucu sağlık sisteminin adını başlık yapıp içini boş bıraktı. Toplumda şişmanlık algısı da çok değişmedi. Eğitim şarttı, verilmedi ve hala verilmiyor. Obezitenin sonuçları sağlık sistemindeki birçok el ovuşturan tüccar zihniyetini besliyor. Hastalık eşittir ilaç denklemi dogdu.
